“So Xiao-Ci, your first story is already done” Asks Lu Yao.

“Not yet…” Cheng Zhaoci still has the storyboard to complete.

It’s going to be a proper, long-term serial comic, so he has a separate cover art planned for each story.

It’s quite the workload.

Besides, his second story’s plot is also waiting for him.

With six chapters in total for those two, and with this being planned as a full-length comic, he’s planning to release it on a weekly schedule.

Six weeks is enough for him to solve the issues underlying this story.

Cheng Zhaoci was planning to scrap the story entirely anyway if it couldn’t fit with an insectoid background.

He just doesn’t want to let go of the original story without a struggle.

Lu Yao, though, has locked him back into the prison known as work with a single sentence.

He, without a complete draft and complete storyboard panelling, is in no place to talk any further.

Two days later, the Zhou brothers receive the first chapter’s full draft.

Cheng Zhaoci sent it along as it was completed.

They also got the sketches in the meantime.

Though while working hard, Cheng Zhaoci suddenly received news.

Mr Liang’s xiongzhu has died.

Lu Yao told him with this hasty, solemn tone and stiff expression.

After that, he immediately got dressed and left.

Apparently, there have been so much negative press about the pirates online, that one of the angry pirates in question uploaded a video.

Before moderation could scrub the video offline, many insectoids have already been inadvertently exposed.

Including of course, Mr Liang, who has been desperately waiting for news.

Zhou Luoluo called Cheng Zhaoci.

He just had to call someone, to talk about what he saw.

In the video, Mr Liang’s xiongzhu was surrounded by a whole group of pirates.

Naked.

He had degrading acts done to him on the floor.

Zhou Luoluo refrains from describing the specifics of the degrading acts, being a minor male who has never seen anything like it.

Cheng Zhaoci could imagine, though.

His face pales somewhat as he presses for more details.

When Mr Liang’s xiongzhu learned of the deaths of his cijun and concubines during the surrounding shemales’ mocks and slurs on him, he snapped.

He cried while the pirates all laughed at his prone form.

There were pirates still kicking him while he’s down.

After the cry came the snap.

He bombarded one of the pirates with extremely foul language, until that pirate descended on Mr Liang’s xiongzhu to beat him up.

“Blood was everywhere… his head was not the right shape,” Zhou Luoluo’s tone is frightful without a doubt.

He sounds like he’s holding back tears, “I had no idea the video would become that.

The male… he still struggled and twitched when his head caved in.

Then he didn’t move anymore.

Cheng Zhaoci, what should we do It’s Mr Liang’s xiongzhu, what should we do”

What should they do What even could… Cheng Zhaoci’s back is already frigid cold just listening to Zhou Luoluo’s description.

He has never felt the war so close to him as it has become now.

Mr Liang… Oh wait! Mr Liang!

Cheng Zhaoci jumps up.

Lu Yao is already gone.

There is no one who can accompany him.

He is panicking inside, and not thinking about his own safety anymore.

What if Mr Liang does something he can never regret again He grabs the nearest guard with him, and sets off.

He’s not there.

At Mr Liang’s residence, no one is answering the door.

Cheng Zhaoci calls Mr Liang’s phone again and again.

It would not go through.

“Mr Liang! Mr Liang!!!” Cheng Zhaoci starts yelling at the door.

Nothing.

“Xiao-Ci Why did you come over What’s wrong” Mr Liang’s voice suddenly comes from behind.

Cheng Zhaoci looks behind him immediately.

Mr Liang has some groceries.

He’s huffing a little, “did you stand out here long Come inside.”

Mr Liang looks no different, if one ignores how ghostly pale he looks.

Cheng Zhaoci follows Mr Liang into the residence.

After actually seeing him, all words escape him.

It feels like everything he could possibly say wouldn’t help matters any.

“I saw it,” Mr Liang says, unusually calm, “I know what you’re worried about, xiao-Ci.”

“I would not give up on life.

If I died as well, who would take care of the children” Mr Liang gives Cheng Zhaoci a can of drink, “I really want to see my xiongzhu again, but I can’t possibly leave his children to orphanages.”

“There is nothing else I can do.

We have to move on,” Mr Liang’s smile has not any semblance of joy, “life has to go on, for the better.”
